Thread: Bronco project past, present, future,

  1. Default Bronco project past, present, future,

Alrighty then, I'll cheat a little since I'm new here and there is no way I'll be re posting a ton of stuff done etc, so that being said here are links to the threads...aka cheat and be warned tons of pics ...

Ok BC4x4 and my Bronco build is here

    http://bb.bc4x4.com/showthread.php?1...uild..huh..WTF

Now I did some work installing a special reinforcement plate around the steering column hole and clutch master cyl and that is here...

Now I have been working on my shop too, I got it and insulated it or should I say Scott Ross of Viking Insulation did and here it is as I have been sticking in tons of tools and parts and tis a tad messy but it's what I have to work with.

The shop will be getting a shelf around the perimeter about 8' in the air about 2' wide so I can stick all my loose bulky light weight stuff up there, inflatable boat, coolers camping gear dog crate etc. That will help get me more room down where I need it and can make use of benches etc

And finally as of Jan 01 2012 I am at this stage and have the Bronco in the shop!

So I'll update this a little in the near future, right now the truck is near complete to run with a 5.8L 5Sp ZF it was a 5.0 with 4sp T18 and the trans was dying and the engine close to dead. Bought a 1T crewcab 4x4 for the engine and running gear, drove the truck home on back roads and that's the engine in the truck now.

In the Bronco build you'll see the sandblasted bare frame I have for the frame up build I'll be doing with the diesel and 1 ton running gear! Hope this is enough of a project that has been worked on is being worked on currently and will continue to be built...

Mine had about 498,000+ K on it, I tached it out uphill in 3rd long hill and it musta lost oil pressure or something cause it started knockin like a hot rod lincoln...if I coasted downhill in 3rd it would kick out of gear so hard I had to hold it in gear and it hurt like kicked by a Mule in the palm of the hand.

Clutch burned out pulling a tandem axle garbage truck out of a muddy hay field too....so unless yours was seriously abused and beat and put away wet tired and retarded I doubt it's as bad as mine was!....

Well gone n made some progress, I managed to get an exhaust system put together, reinforced the front frame horns, set the clip in place and began to get it mounted properly, then...water froze under home trailer to the kitchen, got water in bathroom not kitchen. OK so another day gone and still no water yet, I'll be getting under there when wife gets home IN case of emergency...ugh.

Well truck will wait till water fixed, then, I can continue to complete it and get it running.

    nuff for now
