Thread: Cheap-Skate-Pipe- Rotator

    Default Cheap-Skate-Pipe- Rotator

Spent twice as much time fooling with trying to hook a door closer and weight to the flat-belt than grinding today.. ended up just looping it under my roller stand and using my toe to turn it. Worked good on the old steam pipe legs. Seems like the big flap disk will probably spin'er by itself. I'm a dope, was using my grinder for most of it.

I was thinking that if I could get the closer hooked up, it would turn it slow and be adjustable. Turns out I've been storing a broken one for 10 years... still in the box.

Thats a good idea. I didnt think of using casters to roll pipe like that. Last time I welded pipe, i set it on a slight open vice and welded a little bit between turning it.

That is a neat idea, now you'll have to use 2 feet one to roll the pipe and 1 to operate the tig. I haven't had any pipe to weld lately but Ill definitely keep this in mind.
