Thread: When is the next (Jan) batch of 250EXT's coming in, and what comes with it?

Default When is the next (Jan) batch of 250EXT's coming in, and what comes with it?

I am in the second batch of 250EXT's, and am waiting for their arrival. Oleg indicated to me via email there are some delays, so I thought I would start a thread since I am sure there are others waiting as well.

    A few questions:

1 - What is the expected date these units will be shipped to the customers?

2 - What exactly should we expect to be shipped with the units? There appears to be a bit of variability here, with missing pedals, extra power cords, etc. A list would be good here. Here is what I think comes with the unit:
    - 250EXT Welding unit
    - Power cord (it appears the one shipped is very light, I assume I need to find a replacement)
    - Tig torch with cable (Series 18 water cooled with hand trigger, denim cover)
    - Work clamp with cable
    - SMAW electrode holder
    - Argon regulator with appropriate hose (regulator to welder)
    - Consumable starter pack (what exactly is in this – tungsten's, collets, cups?)
    - Foot Pedal

3 - Are there any changes we should expect from the first batch? Improved pedals?

I have some TIG work that I need to get done very soon, and I bought this welder specifically to do this work, so the time is now running and I am getting nervous!

    Cheers,

    Mike

I am sure Alex can chime in on this to answer when they will be ready for shipping. However unless they are leaving now i hightly doubt that anything will move now untill the earliest the begining of February . And i have not heard anything about my 250EXT being sent.
The Footpedal will be the same as i sent out with the last units so no changes there.
If they are sent out before the 21st then it will be 2-3 weeks for arrival to San Fransico .
This is only my thoughts as i am not that involved in this unit although i might just verify Canadian units before shipping just to make sure but this depends on timing as i am not back in China untill the 10 th february. Reason being my main order is being started then and the 250ext is only a few units . In fact it is so low on my priority list i do not even know how many where ordered by me ,but Mark has been on top of this with the Engineers so this is partly why i have not concerned myself with it.
    Cheers

I prepaid an order for a 250-EXT back in February and was told the shipping date would be at the end of March. It's now the end of April and still haven't heard a word on when these welders might be shipped. I tried e-mailing these guys for an update but they just don't respond back. I might just have to lease another model Tig welder to get some jobs done if it's going to be another month or two or even longer?

Oleg, it might be easier to just post the plan and timeline? I know this particular product has been a real challenge, but it seems its very close to being resolved and having production start.

    Cheers,

    Mike

The factory has sent sent videos of the welder on AC and DC, it looks like the DC is just about perfect. The AC tries to double arc if the tungsten is cold, once it warms up it looks good. They are doing more experiments on the AC. Oleg may be able to post links to the video if anyone is interested.

On DC I can get very reliable lights at 5 amps start, using the pedal. It will actually weld down to 2 amps on DC.

I believe the factory workers on the 250EXT engineering production line went out for a lunch break and never returned back.
