Default Tapatalk for iPad and iPhone finally working

The webmaster finally enabled the capability for the Tapatalk app for the smartphones. If you use your iPhone or iPad to go on online forums, this app is a great help. All your forum identities can now be in one app so you can visit your favorite forums easily. Thanks guys...

I have about 14 online forums that i frequent, and this leaves only two that are not compatible with the app. It does make it convenient when i am out and about to check on the latest activity around here. You might say "get a life", but the times like when i am waiting in the diner for my food to come, or riding the railroad to the city are perfect times to easily check multiple forums from one single app without having to sign into each one separately.

Oleg, or whomever enabled the app, thanks for your attention.

Oleg, thanks for setting this up, and Joe thanks for the tip. Tapatalk is really great. Definitely worth 3 bucks.

One thing I just ran into ... when visiting the forum from my iPhone, I get this pop-up message for just about every link I click in the forum now:

Name:	ImageUploadedByTapatalk1327279083.296422.jpg
Views:	413
Size:	10.6 KB
ID:	4692

Makes it hard to use the forum with out Tapatalk .

    Cheers

Also, it looks like images uploaded through Tapatalk get scaled way down, so they are almost unusable (like 8kb and 10kb). Oleg is that a tunable you can adjust?

    Thanks

Here is a test of a photo uploaded from tapatalk.

You appear to be correct. See post below.

it appears that when viewing the forum from the app, when you upload a photo that is stored on your iphone, you get a choice to either store it on this forum's server, or store it on the tapatalk servers. If you choose the latter, the app builds a link to the photo they store and insert it into your post. It looks like it comes out full size. If you choose to just upload to the everlast server (like you would be doing if you were on your home computer), it winds up compressing the photo to a small size, not very visible.

Ok, I see what you are referring to now .... here's the annoying pop up screen shot again.

I wonder if Tapatalk expires the hosted images after a certain amount of time.

in was thinking the same thing, and also about if the company that developed the software goes out of business, the images are gone, but by then they will probably be in a dead thread anyway.

Posting images is better left to when you are on your computer. It is kind of keeping with the philosophy of the iPad, etc.. whereas the iPad is thought to be a "consumer" of media rather than a "producer". Viewing media and documents is easier than actually creating them on these devices.

I generally agree with the iPad being a consumer of media, however I actually use my iPhone with Tapatalk, and the iPhone is a very good "producer" of photos. Come to think of it, I can't even recall the last time I used a camera that wasn't my phone. Part of the cool-factor is that I take a picture of something I made in the garage, and I have it posted before I've even made it back in to the house .

Say Oleg, not that you don't have enough to do already , but I found a thread that might be relevant to the image scaling issue:

Yeah, see I don't have an iPhone, just an iPad. The only way basically to get a photo into the photo folder is to grab a screenshot with the home and power key.
