    Default new pp 256

just received my replacement pp256 yesterday, noticed right away a few changes, they incorporated a tig cooler plug in at the back of the welder, main electrical cable is heavier guagei`m not sur eif my old one had this but looks like they added dots for increments on all the dials, there is supposed to be an upgrade as well on the plasma capacity side, lots of nice little changes! Thanks Duncan for the great service!! I`ll fire it up this weekend and give her a go!

One thing I have noticed from this forum is EL is always inproving there products. Looks like they will continue to grow and be around along time. Enjoy your pp256 and let us know how it performs.

As for the unit that was returned i have not done anything with it as of yet, The only thing i have done was to try a new plasma torch and this worked well . the small spark when hf is on still shows but this is a simple fix. The one issue that had me concerned i can not duplicate and i wonder if there was something heating up inside the unit that ended up being burnt off or something because the unit performs perfectly apart from the spark while the HF is on from feedback.
I will be taking a really good look at this weekend to see if i can solve this little mystery .
I have not been to bothered by it because we had decided to just replace it when we talked so it is not something i have to jump on to get sorted out .
    Cheers

Got to try out the welder this weekend, plasma cut some 1/2 inch material, cut it like butter, had a big chunk of 4ft x 5ft 3/8 used plate to cut smaller for my bench, made myself a straight edge and started to cut, nice clean line!! wow now i`m definately impressed!! Did some tigging, used the same settings as i previously used on my old machine, same steel, i had way more control over my puddle, the arc did not bounce around, way nicer weld!!, next test i`m going to do is weld teeth onto a skidsteer bucket, half with our lincoln stick inverter, the other half with the everlast, see which one does the better job, then make a penetration test between both welders. When i have a chance i`ll post up some pictures of the improvements they recently did to the welder!
