Default CGCINC Project#8: Portable Band Saw Stand

I always need a vertical band saw it seems and I liked Powertigs stand he did here... http://www.everlastgenerators.com/fo...Band-Saw-Stand

I wanted mine to be floor standing.
The piece of angled metal that mounts to the back of the saw is from a leg raise workout bench that was spare parts. The 1/2" plate base was given to me and the 2 x 4 riser is left over from my Bicep machine build.
I went to Harbor Freight and bought a $79 portaband for this project.
The handle sits down in the channel on top of the stand. I used one bolt through the handle to hold it in place.
I removed the second handle and that is where I mounted the angled piece in back.
This was a fast and easy stand taking about an hour to complete. It has 3 bolts that I can remove if I need to use the saw manually.
Nothing fancy, just thought I would share....

This plate was given to me and it had 1" holes in each corner.
I cut 1" tubing in 1" sections to slide down in and weld for feet.

Time to get out the 1/8" filler rod!

Looks good now wide a piece can you cut with it? I converted th HF saw to strictly vertical but only cuts about 3". Click image for larger version.

Good job! I like that a lot, might have to steal that idea. You might want to replace the stage to accommodate larger pieces.

The saw is made by Chicago Electric. I don't plan on bolting it down. The base is pretty heavy and it doesn't move when I use it.
Eventually I plan on getting a Real vertical saw so this is temporary
