Thread: Recommend a Torch?

  1. Default Recommend a Torch?

I have the PP205 and it came with the 26 torch. Very Bulky and I may have carpletunel before it is over with. New to Welding and I noticed some people have leaned toward the CK flex. I do like their super flex cable.

This may be a redundant thread, but looking for advice for best cost and being able to use my current consumables in a new torch? Thanks for any input.

I can not give a recomendation in regards to the CK torches but for size i can tell you the WP17 flex neck that we have is a nice torch and your consumables will fit.

You can find a cheaper setup, but this one will make you happy. Trim the gas line on the dinse to the length you want and push the male quick connect from the oem torch into it.... no clamp needed... apply heat shrink and start welding.

Thanks. Will the everlast 26 consumables fit this setup and is the cable super flex? Not a bad price. The only thing is that I want to preserve my existing torch, so where would I get a quick connect for the gas?

Yes, 26 consumables fit this setup... cables are super flex and everlast sells the quick connects. Also note that CK torches are rated the same in AC as DC... many others are rated 20% lower in AC.

Great Point! I think you have sold me. Is this the torch that you have? Is is more like a 17 or 20 size? Finally, do you recommend a gas saver setup from CK?

    Thanks again for the input.

I have a CK130... the 210 trimline that I suggested is not much bigger. I don't recommend the CK gas saver setup... I prefer to buy import pieces that work just as well at a much lower price. Buy a five pack of gas lenses for the smallest tungsten size you'll need and drill them up to any size larger as needed. In other words you can buy import 1/16 gas lenses and drill them to 3/32 or 1/8.
I do recomend the CK wedge collets. They'll probably last forever and work perfectly with import gas lenses.

The cable won't fit your oem dinse but the CK dinse I listed for this torch package will fit your machine. 17 - 18 - 26 size consumables fit them (CK calls them 3 series)

Thanks for the offer. I, like you, am opting for the flex head.

... opting for the flex head, short slim handle and most importantly the superflex cable.

Buggy - you're going to be happy with the CK Trimline 210. Its what I use and really, I don't think there is a better option for 200 amp @ 60% duty cycle (or less) machine.

My local welding supplier, Central Welding, is a CK dealer, and I had them special order it for me. They seem to have a really good hook up on CK products. The welding supplier uses CK as their primary brand for TIG consumables, and CK is also somewhat local. It also doesn't hurt having the nice account with them that I do.

I did the research on what I wanted by myself, and just gave them the exact CK part numbers I wanted. I just dug out the invoice. The Trimline 210 with the 12' super flex cable and flex head "CK TL2112HSFFX" ran me $105 + sales tax.
