    Default Plasma Newbie Everlast 60

Hi everyone, just dropping to say hi. I just got my new machine, not sure yet if it was a wise move.

It was... I've got a power plasma 60 and I love it. I cut lots of 3/8" plate and 2 1/2" 14ga square tube with it last week and the tip that came on the torch is still good as new.

ID:	4126Welcome aboard...

New here myself, and picked up a PowerTig 225LX to try out.. I have another brand of 'off shore' plasma cutter (50amp blue box in the pic) that I've cut a boat load of metal with. It's about 5-6 years old now, and has been bullet proof so far. Here's a pic of the project I bought the plasma for. Cut quite a bit of the metal with it building the trailer, and plenty since. I've used Hyper Therm ect plasma's. and wanted a small dual voltage to tote around. Thought I'd put it through its paces building this trailer from scratch. With these imports, support and consumables are a needed service. Both of which seems to be the case here. Never had any issues with my plasma, but consumables are not always 'on the shelf' items at the local welding shop, at least with mine. I've found plenty of sources and it hasn't been an issue either..

Hope it gives you good service... Rob..

It came with a Trafimet A-81 torch, when I purchased it I am having a hard time getting some parts i.e. PC0115 Everlast says they don't carry it and to call Flordia Power & Welding Trafimet Rep. they say they can sell to retail customer. Everlast said that the A-81 torch that came with with the machine is the wrong one and said that they would send out a box for me to ship back. They would replace it with the one that is suppose to come with the machine. that was three weeks ago. Also te machine looked to be a used one as several screws holes in the Back of the unit were stripped out and the bracket holes for the air filter were not drilled to match the mounting holes. I was able to retap the stripped holes and modified the air filter bracket holes to fit. This is a 60 amp plasma cutter but the digital display only shows 54-55 amps when fully cranked up. I suspect that this should read 60 amps, so something is amis. So I wondering if the machine I got was a previously returned one, that was resold as a new one. Not sure one way or another at this point.

The stripped screws do happen from time to time on new units as some of those Chinese don't know their own strength. Also the issue with the mounting screws not matching up has been one we have been battling with from time to time. I am not sure, but I think it has to do with changing suppliers of the bracket. The display changes to read actual output while in use. Another issue could be your input power is a little on the low side, or input frequency is a little off if it is being run off a gen set or something. They are accuracy ranges in the 5-10% one way or the other. There is a simple way to adjust it. Ray or someone can help.

Do you have the part number you are looking for? The outer nozzle?

You can always call Traimet, but I find if we do not have something in stock here in the US, www.everlastcanada.ca might have it. I would check with them first. Mind you the cost will be a little more since they are in Canada.

    Also check arc-zone.com.
