So, I started making etchings on the blade.
Poor quality old pic is all I've got, but that is supposed to be a dragon blowing fire from about midway up to the point.
Hell, everything was working out much better than I ever thought!
A buddy helped me a little on the research and we learned that swords years ago had gold filled into the grooves.
I didn't have gold, but I was interested in trying it with brass. We had lots of brass at our shop.

Turned out, trying to get brass into the cracks was a very bad idea.
It never cleaned up. The heating had destroyed/pitted the edge, and it looked ...like crap!
That was the end of that project.
