You'll have to be a little clearer on what you'd like to know.

I don't think the air is coming out all the ports.

If you remove the ceramic and the nozzle, tap the trigger with the post flow turned up. Do you feel air from each hole? Look in the holes and make sure they are clear.

Swap the consumables as well, maybe that one is defective.

the wiring and trigger are not working properly on the torch. any suggestions on repair?

We generally supply a whole torch, as repair, and parts can cost nearly or exceed the cost of the torch. If it is under 6 months, the torch will be warrantied.

    Hi Zinger
I assume i spoke to you today about trouble shooting the Torch???
Is your torch 3 years old???
If so then a simple solution for this model is to use a doorbell switch taped to the handle and just run 2 wires back to your 2 pin plug .

it still don't work unless you loosen up the electrode in the torch, and even then the power is not there to cut 3/8" inch metal and the arc is erratic. the air supply is 65 psi at the torch. the gap on the hf points is at 0.060" as ray told me to adjust them to. any ideas?

I would set the points to .040 and see if there is a change. It sounds like you might have a bad or wrong set of consumables. Do you have others to try or the original set? When you loosen the electrode you make it a little longer.

I reset the hf points to 0.040, changed the tip, electrode, and ceramic. theses all came with the machine when I purchased it. there was no change. the only way it will cut is when i loosen the electrode. and the arc is still erattic and don't arc lots of the time.all the ports have air coming out so there is nothing blocked up. the consumables look the same as the ones I changed out. this is frustrating.

If the torch is 3 years old. Might be time for a new one *OR* email sales@everlastwelders.com and see if you can get a couple electrodes and nozzles cheap for testing. Drop the gap to .030 also.

Do you see any damage in the head with the nozzle off? Is the ceramic a pink color?

the ceramic is pink. with the nozzle and electrode out everything looks fine. what is the black ceramic ring in the head for.

I will have to go look at an old torch as far as the black ceramic?? Do not recall that. But if it did not look like it was burnt or damaged, should not be an issue either way.

I think getting another set of consumables might be the best direction. We ship the torches with a tested set on them and then add spares in the warehouse to the box. Could be the spares are for another torch. Hard to say.

Maybe some pictures, but like I said see if you can get a couple spare consumables and test it, that will help too.

I reset the points to .030". got the wiring issue fixed with the torch, install the original electrode and tip, but still got the same problem. with the points closer it doesn't cut at all. and it still only will arc/cut when the electrode is loosened up, even with the original tip and electrode.

Definitely time for a new torch.

  16. Default

if you are sure it is the torch then I will order a new .

hey mark what would be the reason for the torch just to quit. it dosen't have much use on it, even though it is a little over two years old.

  18. Default

got my new torch. hooked it up but still got the same trouble. only will arc when I loosen the electrode. I adjusted the points from .030, .040,.045,.060. all with the same result. I cannot see any arc across the points when the machine starts to arc. any help would be appreciated.
