Thread: Smaller tips for A81 torch?

  1. Default Smaller tips for A81 torch?

Are there smaller tips than 1.0 for the A81 torch? We have been using an old Matco plasma with I think 12.5 to 20 amps and .6 to .8 tips to cut off quarter-panels and such.

The 70 amp plasma cutter with a 1.0 tip is overwhelming for cutting off quarter panels. Would a smaller torch that is designed for a 20 amp plasma with smaller tips make this big plasma cut more like the smaller machines do on thin sheet-metal?

if you go to fitamet site ,they only list 1.2 and 1.0`s tips, i`ve cut sheetmetal with both 1.2 and 1.0 tips, the 1.0 does a clean knife cut when set corectly

I'd suggest looking at the PP50, instead. It'll handle a lot of different ranges as well. The s-45 is pretty good on thinner stuff.
