Thread: Saying Hello

  1. Default Saying Hello

I thought it would be a good idea to finally introduce myself to the Forum Members as i have been lurking around long enough.
My name is Duncan and i live in Ontario Canada ( any other Canucks on here)
My welding projects mostly revolve around my 4x4s bumpers armour etc . nothing to fancy but it works for me.
I have been redoing a ex British Army Defender 110 Land Rover for the last little while . At this point it is a rolling restoration which is a good thing as i have had no time so far this year to do much with it. I hope to get some time during the winter to get some projects on it completed .I will be making a new winch bumper for the front and reinforcing the rear cross member to accept a rear mounted Winch I need to make a front skid and rear gas tank plate and i also need to do some welding in the rear cab ( Aluminum Body ) to set it up for camping trips ( if i ever have the time) . The way my schedule is it will still be another year before it even starts to look the way i want it and i will likely decide to change things in the mean time so i doubt i will ever be able to say i have it 100% completed. but this is part of the fun
    Cheers

Hi Duncan, welcome aboard. We all would like to see some pics of your projects. That armor sounds interesting too.

Welcome to the gang. By all means send us some pictures. Don’t feel bad about the time line on your project; I’m working on one that has been in the pipeline since 1978. My other one is now in its 7th year. As long as we are making progress on some thing it all counts. My wife may say different but that’s just the noise in the back ground of life.

    Hey Duncan,

Good to see you here. The Titan winch name. You can only be one Duncan. Welcome aboard.

I'm building up a trailer myself and today I hope to get to the winch mounted. Short one piece of steel. Going with a reese hitch so I can move it around, from trailer to back and front of truck.
