Received some new clamps yesterday

I ordered a few clamps (and a Nomad welding table) last week as a birthday present to myself. I ordered a variety of small clamps as well as accessories to go along for strange clamping requirements.






First up is the Strong Hand PA622. Main pivot angle is "infinitely" adjustable and held into place by a compression screw. Handle on the screw can be repositioned while turning to prevent contact with other items and allow full tightening under pretty much any circumstances. The locking plier clamps can be positioned in a few other positions as well. They are retained to teh clamp with a screw, or can remain loose. This is teh small version of the tool and they offer a larger version, PA634, as well.

This is a "UD" series clamp. It is the smallest frame size in their range. This particular one is an 8" length. I also have 4 and 6" lengths. A bunch of accessories are shown, and will likely never all be used together. I basically bought 1 each of every accessory they had just to have a variety of options

This is just a big pile of clamps all clamped together.

Overall, they seem to be pretty decent. I bought all of the light duty versions as I typically only do lighter fabrications.

I can do that....once I use it. I did put it together, just haven't used it yet. I am busy trying to get my bike together. First race is April 28th, and as of saturday at noon, it was just a bare frame.

I've had my Nomad since early January and have had quite a few opportunities to use it. I'd stumbled across them on sale at my local Industrial Metals and after doing a bit of research I picked one up. They had them on-sale for $90 which seemed much better than even the prices I'd found on the web. For me it's been perfect. I unfold it, use it, fold it back up and put it away. It seems that any horizontal surface in my home shop ends up getting cluttered so the discipline of putting it away each time has served me well. It's quite solid and the slots have proven themselves to be quite handy for C-clamps, etc. I've got some of their little magnetic flexible positioners/clamps that also work quite well. Their clamps are cleverly designed and I'll probably pick some up one of these days. For now I've just been copying/adapting some of their designs into some DIY clamps and holders. The tilt and adjustable height is a handy feature as is the pop out handle. Very portable. I've yet to use the edges you can raise up for 90 degree positioning, etc.

For my home workshop it's perfect. I would lay something on top if I was going to tack something down on it but that's just me. If you're looking for something you can really beat on (it's definitely not an anvil) to make final adjustments to your project, tack on or in a heavy duty environment one of the stationary tables I've seen folks post would likely work better for you.
