Thread: PU164, PU185 current requirements

    Default PU164, PU185 current requirements

Are data available for the current requirements of the PU164 and PU185 units?
Are they all dual voltage capable (seems to be the case from the web specs)?
performance numbers for 120V and 240V input would be appreciated.

Additionally, air consumption data woudl be a plus.

Any users have these that can provide any feedback on them?

I am looking to potentially purchase one of these to be used for auto mechanic work, mostly exhaust type, for a local auto repair shop. In addition, I will have access for my plasma cutting needs...

The pp50 shows 29A running and 37A inrush. Probably too high for my 30A circuit that I run my 200DX on. Seems the PU185 may be the way to go, especially with the DC TIG addition.

Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

    185 is for 50.00 additional.
    164 is not.

The draw for 240, is listed on the site. For 110, it is going to be nearly 30 amps, with reduced output.

    Where is the current listed?

Nothing shown here for current, just says 120/240V:

It was there, at least I thought it was :/

I'll have to look it up then, as this is something that I don't have on the top of my head. The 164 is brand new, and the PU 185's are not something I have ever sold or seen.

The new 164 is the PowerPro 164 not the DC only PowerUltra 164.
I second Mark in that i have never seen either of these units ( PU 164 or PU 185) and these are special order only as seen by the red asterix beside them.
Now if you wanted info on the PowerUltra 205 then this would be simple and it will run on a 30 amp Breaker on 220v.

    Cheers

Hmmm...I wondered what the red asterisks meant.
I assume they would be a bit less current than the 205, that said, I'm not sure I'm up for being a guinea pig for a machine that no one has even seen before.
The 205 might be the way to go. what's one more $100 bill anyway.

Sportbike, I have the PU 205 and I couldn't be more happier. At first I was skeptical about the 3 in 1 unit but I knew that 80% of the use would be tig
and the plasma was a bonus.
