Default Small metal and wood bench

I needed a small bench to go by my front door.

    Size of the frame is 12" x 26" x 16" tall.
The wood top will be Red Oak stained to match our hardwood floor and will be the same size of the frame 12" x 26". I originally was going to have a 1" overhang on all sides but I decided to go with a more "modern" look of no overhang.

Legs are 2 1/2" square supported by 2" square with 3/4" square down low on the sides.
I will be using 1/4" lags to secure the wood to the frame.
I painted the frame with Plasticote Rebuilder Cast Gray #285 and then clear coat to protect it.

I ordered the wood and it should be here this week.
It is Plank style butcher block and will have three pieces glued together, then surfaced and sanded on all sides ready for stain when it arrives.

I'll post more pics when its on the frame!

I have black plastic caps that will slide in the bottom. I'm starting to think I need a Mig more than a Tig, would go a lot faster!

When the UPS man arrives, he'll be happy to set the package of bar bells down on that. Looks good, sturdy, clean lines, nice job.
