Alex , it was nice talking with you , and it does seem like theres good customer support and info. you sound like you know your stuff and taking pride in your company and not just there for a check...

i look forward to this machine and hope it does well.... if so , i will be needing some new upgrades for my shop like Tig machine and few other items as business pick back up....

    thank you...

    Welcome aboard McClary.

Where are you located? Looks like you have a lot of fun and long term projects. That is great in this economy right now.

Any questions on your new Everlast product when you get it, feel free to post here, or email us a phone number to call you at.

On the funny side. Can I see the 70? Nova. My brother took mine 25+ years ago (71 SS), want to make sure it's not mine. I have a 78 vette I would love to see leave my place soon. I have bad luck with 350 small blocks I guess, that might be why we are all Ford now in my house.

I'm jealous those cars are old and don't look like they have much rust on them. Not like Massachusetts! Nice shop too.

Wait until you see the Nova. Quarter panel will be long gone (back lower part for sure) and trunk will have a rust hole below the logo passenger side bottom corner. And I had that in the early 80's on mine. Unless they have replace or kept it is a dry place. And this was in Florida.

I know a lot of hard work and cash goes into your projects.

haha, yeah, thats prob what ill see.... its funny when someone tries to explain it to you over the phone. "its not bad, just few little rust spots" customer says.. then when i see it.. the rust spots are the best part of the car holding it together, theyre a mess... haha..

has it been 2weeks yet? hahaha ....
really cant wait to get the plasma cutter! LOL... hopefully it wont let me down...

heres what i did last few days...
customer wanted me to make some Control arms for his Hummer H2 , im building him a complete frame for him , to have air ride suspension.. we had it up in the air.. now he wants it on the ground...
heres his truck behind my shop now, he already sold the monster wheels off of it.. i think they where 46"?

im starting the build off with the arms first....
been few months since i tig welded thicker metal , so im try'n to get back into the flow again...

NOT FINISHED.. but here few pics of the arms , i still have to add gussets and etc to them..

mocking up the arms here, made part holder on my lathe to machine down the notch on the arms.. notice very little gap , for better placements and welds...

heres the arms in the jib making sure everything is lined up before i clean the metal and start welding..

not finished, but heres the basic of the arms..

    ..
little over kill on the tubbing and thickness .. but he wanted overkill on his truck , he wants some beefy arms....

im not no top notch builder by any means, i try and i learn. dont have all the computer programs to cad up some frames , eveything im doing is good old fashion paper drawings.. lol... i even made a cardboard life size with moving arms to see how the camber would be effected at different ride heights.. lol
hoping to have the plasma cutter before i start doing my gusset work on the frame... i have alot of plates(gussets) to build , cause he wants this show ready.. which means "overkill" lol

That's insane, but really cool. Nice work. I still do things the old fashion way with paper and pencil (the computer would take me longer I think!!). ;-) Your tubing looks real symetrical so I think you are on the right track. Good luck, and keep the pics coming.

    Nice McClary,

My youngest son liked it a lot. He's 14, but trust me, he can drive about anything. And he "thinks" that's something he will drive to school on day.

Too bad it didn't have the tires and rims on it.

48" is probably illegal in some states, it is here.

Like Goat said. But cool, please keep the pictures/projects coming.

On the Nova, I wish you luck, take pictures.

Okay, here is a little more about me and a few pics. Mind you, I'm no car professional, this is just a hobby.

    http://www.everlastgenerators.com/fo...1&d=1256957295
This is my wife's first car when we painted it back in 1990, it's a '63 Catalina. We couldn't afford the '67 GTO she wanted, so I found this at a used car lot with no motor. They laughed when we towed it away!!

    http://www.everlastgenerators.com/fo...1&d=1256958015
More from the same time. Sorry the pics are grainy, they're old, the scanner is old, hell, I'm old!!

    http://www.everlastgenerators.com/fo...1&d=1256958100
The block unfortunately cracked and when the motor was removed, the frame was found to be cracked in several places, especially around the steering gearbox, yikes! This seems to be due to a probable front left collision early in it's life. The pics aren't real clear, but the cracked area can be seen with the fishplate going on after the NDT work was done and all of the cracks stop drilled, ground, welded, and ground smooth. The finished repair is also shown. The plasma would have been real nice for the fishplate!!

This is how the car looks now with a pic of my first car thrown in just for fun. Obviously the Cat is a work in progress, (again).

This is my wife's newest accquisition, a '63 Sedan de Ville hardtop. It's all there and clean it just needs paint and a carb. A guy was selling his "toys" and the price couldn't be beat as I was telling Wayne.

This is the '63 Belair that was given to me and I in turn gave it to my son, well, he'll take it after I do the bodywork, paint and interior. Ha ha. I already have the interior, a nice reproduction from Year-One. My son is in the Air Force now, we're very proud of him. I was in the USAF from Nov. '85 until Nov. '92, so he's following in the tradition. His grandfather and great grandfather also served, we kind of have a thing going I guess.

This is my daily driver a '63 Coupe de Ville. We got it at an estate sale. The woman that owned it bought it new, always had it professionally serviced and repaired and saved EVERY receipt for anything ever done to it, including light bulbs. It has a 429, power everything, but no air. The interior is leather and cloth, pretty clean except for the top of the driver's seat where she used to lean on to get into the car after a hip replacement.

We live in Albuquerque NM, but are originally from Chicago. We've been here collectively for about fourteen years. We went to high school together and the rest is history.

The pics are links as I don't know how to get them to show up in the post. I work with computers every day, but this blogging is new to me, so please bear with me, I'll learn!! I've tried it, and the pics can be enlarged when they come up from the link. If anyone knows how to get these on the post, please do tell. Thanx.

We also have two Crown Vics, two Broncos, and an '89 flatbed wrecker. There is also half of an airplane out there too, but that's a whole other story!!

I look forward to getting to know all of you.

pictures look good... really digging the cars... maybe one day , i might be able to have me a nice ride... so busy working on other people rides , dont give me time for myself...

oh side note Goat... on photobucket, you posted the direct link, which is fine... but scroll down on a photo where the codes are, and find the IMG code.. just copy and paste that on the message box, and the picture will show up in your post ...

heres one of my future projects (if i dont find something else whenever i get time to start) , 1948 ford coupe, we pulled out of the woods. the price was right (FREE). haha

i figure this would be the perfect car to chop up and build since its rusted and missing parts and beyond restoring original .. thats so some of the Ford owners dont get all uptight due to me wanting to cut it up. ill tell them i did pull it out of the woods , i did ford a favor.. lol...
game plan , unless i come across something else .. is to chop the top 2" on front and 4" at back , slant the middle pillers , section the body 2" , extend the rear fenders forward 4" , build new frame , i have a 1978 460 motor for it, but will not put it in , due to the weight, i want to put air bags on this, so i want to keep the weight down some.. anyways.. too much to list....
i am wanting to metal finish this car as much as possible to show the customers... and do some Lead work on it as needed... main goal is to have something here i can show the customers what i can do. so ill be making alot of panels ane etc by hand ... prob will be a super longterm project .. but main goal is to have fun with it...

    Default Too cool...

    McClary,

Super cool, love the fender extension, wicked chop, leaning the pillars, 2" section, all of it, it'll be killer. ...and the price can't be beat for sure. That dog house looks like a tough nut to crack, but not impossible. It'll be one hot ride and really showcase your talents. Keep the pics coming as it progresses, really interesting stuff. Also, I know for a fact that you can get bags that will support the 460 and still keep ride quality, plus it would look WAY cool. I've done a few mix and match airbag set-ups and the people in the know (SEMA types) are really helpful when tackling this sort of build.

I tried to do the IMG links from the site and they showed up just as the direct links, but not underlined and going nowhere if you know what I mean. I'll try again soon with some pics of my small modest shop and see what comes of it. Thanks for the advice, I'm sure it's really just a fat finger problem.

That's not my Nova . I like that old rusted (blue) bucked under it.

The glass in it might be worth quite a few bucks on ebay.

No floor pans not a big deal (no floor). But the front end looks like a lot of work. It will not be stock when you are done.

Do you use any of the rusted parts? What do you treat it with if you do?

Amazing the dash is not that bad.
