    Default Power Ultra 205P

Been having trouble getting the Power Ultra 205P to cut when operating on 120V. Here are the symptoms:

The machine cycles back and forth between the pilot and cutting arc unless the air pressure is reduced to very low levels, about 45 psi. When its this low, the cut is terrible and it splatters all over.

The air is clean and the ground connection is solid.

Oh, and it does have points and they have been adjusted correctly.

I am going to pick up some 0.6mm, 20 amp tips, to see if this will help.

Does anyone have any other ideas to try?

    TIA,

    Ken

When my electrode got loose inside the torch, it did something similar.

also, I know you are an electrical wizard, but you are now using your pigtail. When I made my pigtail for 220 at machine to 120 at the wall, I was really careful to get the wiring sequence correct. I think it would be possible to get the 120v wires turned around. Just a guess.

I have tried new electrodes and tips with no change in operation.

I know the wiring is correct, I run my I-MIG off the same pigtail, and have measured the voltage sag which is almost non-existant.

Plus my dual voltage Cutmaster 42 works perfectly fine on the 120V branch.

I am just trying to get it to work satisfactory on 120V so I can use it when on the road...
