Thread: Soon to order micro 185

  1. Default Soon to order micro 185

Does anyone else have problems trying to get a hold of them?
Everytime I call they say they'll call me back but never get any return calls
I have to follow up the next day and get the same thing.

I would like to come down there and pick up the unit once Alex confirms from mark which he suppose to call me back if the new batch they received, the pedal issue where u can control the amperage when on foot pedal mode

Thanks Oleg, mark got in contact with me but he wasn't able to answer my question since he doesn't have a unit with him (new batch). he was gonna get a hold of a person in Canada and get right back to me.

Would anyone in everlast know if the new batch of 185 has fixed the problem of setting the amperage while on foot pedal, I know the old unit once on pedal mode it's only set to max without controlling it. I talked to Alex and he said the new unit might have a setting where u can controller it on the panel whole on pedal mode

I am not sure why they need to contact us here in Canada to answer this Question for you.
The PowerTig 185 micro does not have the ability to set the panel for max amps for foot pedal control .
The 185 works the same way as the PowerUltra 205 and the Multi pro 205.
These are all considered to be basic units in our line up for TIG.
The next level machine to have the max amp panel control will now be the PowerTig 200DX . The new models now have this function but again it is a step up from the basic 185.
    Cheers

    Jonathan,

By design, the unit pedal does control the amperage throughout the full range, relative to the pedal position. If you do not want to weld at 185, amps you just don't press the pedal as far. It's not a problem per se. Butt if you don't like it that way I guess you'd call it that. One reason that it and other units have been that way is that on average most users won't get great control , and easy starts with the maximum amps set really low because of the pedal resolution. If the panel does control it, low amp starts will typically require more pedal movement to initiate the arc. Say you have the max amps set for 20 amps, you'll have to step on the pedal 1/4 or 1/3 of the way before the arc will initiate. In practical use however, 185 amps is a good max amps, and gives easy, low amp starts because of the pedal position, and amperage can be controlled at the low end fairly well. I will see if it has changed so that the panel can control and set the maximum amps that are available to the pedal. But at this point, I haven't heard anything about it.
