The original poster ends up at the bottom of the list. This is backwards from every other forum I've been on. Is there a way to reverse this?

Never mind. I did a little more digging and found it in settings.
I had the same issue. For others with the same question, go to 'settings' in the upper right, then 'General Settings' on the left. Under 'General Settings', 3/4 of the way down the page you should see 'Thread Display Mode:' and choose oldest post first to reverse the sort order.
Cheers!

Sometimes you think its a dumb question , but you never know until you ask , sounds like it will help a few of us.

I came here to ask this exact same question... guess I'll go digging too and try to find it. I saw a comic about this the other day, while looking for a solution to a very specific computer problem all the guy found was a description of the problem and then a "nevermind, found my problem" solution post. Doesn't really help much.
