Welcome, sdr kel, and congrats on the new machine! Let us know what are your thoughts / impressions. Have you TIG welded before, on another machine?

Nice! TIG welding is fun. My first TIG was an Everlast unit. I went and took some classes at the local VocTech for continuing education just to get some instruction. In the end, forums like this and seat time pay the biggest dividends.

    Wow.... A brand new welder!!!!

I am really think of one. So I am trying to strike up a deal on an Argon tank now. If I get a great deal on a tank I can always swap it for oxygen or something else if I don't need it.

I am also digging for accessories. I sure hate to get a welder and have to do a bunch of running to find stuff.

You have to post back and let us know how it works and how you like it. I have never TIGed before so I will have the whole learning curve.

FWIW....I went to my local airgas and bought consumables as the TIG torches on these units are standard (not proprietary).

These local stores... How to trust them. I just bought a used 125 tank. I gave the guy $100 for it. Felt bad he had a renter that took off and owed him a lot of rent. The store told me over $50 to fill it. I will check again in a couple weeks and see what the new price of the day is.

BTW I haven't found anyone so far that was happy with a flux core. Hey can you convert it over to a shielding gas??? I think most of theirs were combo units. Unless you have one of the really small ones.
