Thread: K frame stand

    Default K frame stand

Well here is project 1 for spring contest. I had some scrap 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 X 1/8 square tube, 1 1/2 angle and 2 x 1/8 flat plate. The tube was pretty nasty so I cleaned it as well as I could with a flap wheel but it still tough to tig weld and a little ugly. So heres some pics of a stand I built to hold a Mopar kframe so it will be easier to put suspension and and mount engine and tranny and install by lowering the car on it like they did at factory. I welded it in pieces and bolted together so it could be taken apart and stored. Again I am not a fabricator or a welder so it is crude but hope it will work as planed . It is still a work in progess. Click image for larger version.

Interesting build,,,was wondering if there was some way to attach it to a pallet jack to give you a last little bit of fine tuningon the lift and positioning.

That is food for thought my plan was to put casters on it to make it easy to move but a pallet jack would be nice. I plan on adding an upright on the tail end with some type of vertical adjustman to hold transmission tail shaft when complete engine and tranny are bolted to kframe to install in car. Thanks for the jack idea.
