Here a few pics of these lil smokers that I made for a friend. They are made with 3" schedule 40 pipe and 1/8" sheet steel on the ends. Some angle for the legs and expanded steel for the grate. Hinges are made from bicycle chain.

That is a very creative use for an old bicycle chain link!

At first when I read a little smoker and seen the size of the pipe, I thought is he smoking hot dogs???? Then I seen that you posted ash tray. There has to be a story behind it. Especially for so many. Are they for cigarette ashes??? Or am I missing something??? A bullet proof ash tray???

Don't get me wrong I am not jabbing at you. I am just really curious.

Well a friend of mine came to me and had seen one somewhere. He asked if it could be made fairly cheaply. I made a few sketches and then priced the mats. gave him a quote and he said go for it. He loves to bbq and what cooler than to have a lil bbq for an ashtray on your table. It at least makes a good conversation piece. He has a few other friends that have bbq restraunts and such. So, I beleive they will end up there. And as you well know patrons of restraunts will find a way to break anything they can. Bulletproof? not so much. At least not yet. Give me some time and I will make them bulletproof. The hinges will need to be revamped or go with a heavier chain. Bicycle chain is a little weak for the hinges on the lid.

I knew there was a story behind it... Bullet proof yea... Sure will stop a lot of 22s even some 9s... But indestructable in the hands of customers... Ha they can destroy a lot.

    BTW they look great...
