Thread: Quick update.

    Default Quick update.

Today's the last day of the Fabtech show in Chicago, the crew is packing up the booth as I post this message.

If this helps, it is official, the shipment is in. Nothing will ship until they're back. My guess would be Friday or Monday. We'll post more tomorrow.

I'd like to personally thank you guys for being patient. The show and delivery crossed and we were delayed to start. I know you will be very happy with your new purchase.

I posted this on another forum and re-posting it here as well.

Already talked to the boss about the show next year.

Looks like I might need to go and check it out this year. Can bring my boys too. I have 2 gear heads. Third is a computer kid.

Maybe we can hook up if I can get that way.

They have the virtual thing on a website and the guy was dogging on it. I would still want to play with it. Do they allow you to demo units as this show?

    mike,

I think they only allow people 18 years old and up into the show. Also, remember you'll need to show a copy of the business license and your company business card to card. all people in your "crew" will need to have a company business card, too.

I haven't seen the virtual welder yet, but the Lincoln rep, Lou, was telling me about it. it seems like a great tool for teaching the proper welding techniques. It is really is more of an educational tool for vocational schools, etc. Supposedly, the "operator" can make adjustments and/or see what the "student" is doing from a remote monitoring computer.

and yes....when you are up there, we'll have to get together. I'll call you with my phone number.

Oh that is right. I thought it was to be a vendor. I can get Alex to fax me the paperwork. Oldest is 19. So he is in. Will buy some business card paper, and make my son a temp. hahaha..

Thanks again for the info. Looks like a great show.

Yea, this was a grumpy welder cracking on it. But he did have a nice website far as info. You could practice the long L'a like McLary does on it until you get it right and safe on wire and gas.

Sounds like it would not be hard to weld on it, in position and no helmet, jacket, gloves, etc. And in the AC...

my understanding was that it uses a virtual helmet.

I meant I would like to use it without all the safety gear. But the helmet does have a wire going to it.
