    Hi I am thinking of buying the PowerTIG 230EX
    hear in Aus my understanding is that it is the same as the 250EX just slightly lower amps for 1 phase rating in Australia my Question is why

    Welcome aboard Kats1719,

    You will have to ask the deal/rep there, not sure myself. I know the US units are 250 amps max out. Sometimes we will have a model number that does not match power as well. MIG205 is really a 210.

    I would email sales or Bob from their website and see why, or Mark might know.

    Hello in Australia!
    That is kind of weird that they lower the amperage...
    Hopefully they don't also Raise the price!!!

    I believe it may have to do with your 50Hz power grid as with motors it changes the horse power ratings also.
