Default Looking for a TIG/Plasma that would work on a CNC table as well.

I just bought the Everlast 60C to use on my CNC table, replacing an ESAB PCM 875 unit I was having issues with (due to the hi-frequency start). I sold the ESAB, and am planning to sell my Miller Syncrowave 250 TIG machine. It is very rare that I need to TIG anything (only aluminum/stainless, I MIG everything else), and it's not too often that I need a handheld plasma torch either, but I would like to have one for those times I do need one.

I would LIKE to have something that does TIG/Plasma, but that would not interfere with the CNC controls, the reason I would LIKE that, is just in case the 60C goes down, I will have a backup. Needing a backup would not be an issue most of the time, but I am hoping to take the table to the local fair this year to do custom work on site, I really think it would draw a crowd. It would be nice to have a 'backup' plasma just in case something happend to the 60C during that week. It would also be nice to have a TIG on site if anyone wanted something that needed to be welded.

Does Everlast make a unit that would work for me? I assume not, since any machine capable of welding aluminum would be a Hi-Freq unit, but just figured I would ask.

    Thanks!

I think it would be better to have a 2nd plasma and a separate tig and not a combo set up that dose both , I have never seen a multi welder with ac tig only dc . ask the sales guys if they can give a deal on two units, how old is the Miller Syncrowave 250 TIG lol i had an older one once was a big heavy machine really liked the way it tig welded got rid of it and got a holbart tig 160 was good on thin stuff but didn't have enough amps for what i weld and it was heavy also . like the 250ex i got now since a lot smaller and not heavy

The powerpro 164, 205, and 256 all are AC/ DC tig with plasma. That said, they are also high frequency.

Finding the PP205 to be an excellent, all-around machine...

Rod, the Syncrowave is probably ~10 years old, but I am not sure. It does not have the digital readouts on it. It's a great welding machine, but I don't need something that size to use twice a year.

I will probably talk with them about the two-unit deal, as I think thats about the only way I will have both a handheld plasma, and a TIG, and still be able to have a 'backup' for the CNC table.
