A few of my first welds with the I-MIG 200.....

Do you have a rechargeable auto darkening helmet???? I don't do a lot of welding so mine sits on the wall in the garage. When I use it, it tends to be really really dark... Found out by reading the instructions.... (Who would have thought) If you do not use the helmet in a while the rechargeable battery may get low... Put it in direct sunlight for a while before use and it will recharge. Well go figure... It works fine once I figured that out.

Try using a piece of flat copper if you can,to fill a wide gap,might still have to bump weld it but it will keep wire from going through the gap.Thinking about getting the i-mig 200 or 205.

I think if I could do it over I would get the 205.

Not that I don't like anything about it. It's a very nice MIG. I just think once I start using it more I might need the higher Duty cycle and a little more power.
Don't get me wrong though... This 200 welds very smooth and will be just fine I'm sure. You always want more though!!!

Yeah it would be nice to have a little more current capability, but I really like having the dual voltage option that the 205 doesn't.

I was going to get the i mig 250 but sorta big to throw in the truck to do mobile work if needed , all the welding i do with a mig 200 amps is always the most i ever need for projects since the thickest i ever weld is 3/16 and some times 1/4 . excited to get it since my Lincoln 175 just don't cut it when welding 3/16 , be nice since can have the 175 with .023 wire in it and the 205 with .035 so have one welder for thin stuff and one for thick stuff
