    Default Miller-vs-Lincoln-Everlast

Looking at Miller Diversion 180 or Lincoln or Everlast Power Pro 205.

The following is important to my work:

    - Quality of Al. TIG welds, 6061-t6, 2x2, 0.125 wall tube and 3/16 plate typical.
    - Quality of Steel and SS work similar to above.
    - Reliability is a must have.
    - Ease of torch mods, ability to use gas lens and micro torches for precision work.
    - Available and cost effective consumables.
    - Plasma would be nice to have too.

    Ideas, comments, pros and cons??...kunk

Just need to source the correct connectors for the machine to put pretty much any torch you want on it. From what I've seen, the micro torches and their consumables are proprietary. Standard TIG torch parts can be had inexpensively from weldingcity.com.

    - Plasma would be nice to have too.
I used to be a proponent of multipurpose machines, but I'm glad I got the separate units this time, no swapping gasses and torches between jobs. You will not regret getting a plasma cutter.

River-weld AKA 3shopriver has good prices on consumables.
Penncrest Buzzbox - Infinite amp control! Man the 70's were good.
Everlast Powerplasma 60 - Reliable unit, cuts well.
Everlast i-MIG 250P w/spoolgun - Really smooth, plenty of cajones.
Everlast 250EXT - Sometimes it just takes a kick in the balls...
Everlast 255EXT - Just started playing

I have the PowerPro 256. It has a lot more features than what the US company's offer in the same price range. If your budget allows for a $3000 or so welder, a Miller Dynasty is a fantastic machine. As far as torches go, mine came with a wp17 and I also ordered a wp20. Both use common consumables. I have been buying mine off of EBAY.

I have had my machine for less than a month, but I am happy with the purchase.

I looked at the Diversion hard but I purchased an Everlast Powertig 200dx instead. It took me some time to learn all the settings, but I saved money and got more machine than I would have if I went with a Diversion. You could easily purchase a 185 micro and plasma cutter from Everlast for the same price as the Diversion series.

I have the (not nearly as popular it would appear) pp226. I prefer it over the blue machine anyway. For me its more stable.
Im one of the few that has had there's for quite a few years. Has been great!

It's quite a difference in what you are looking for from a Miller 180 to a PP205. You'd be closer to compare the Diversion to our 185. Similar performance, big difference in price.
Thing is, that you won't find any weld quality difference, if anything, you'll find a better arc in our unit. If you don't like our torch or have different torch needs, we use a dinse connector on our unit and it is a breeze to take our torch off and replace it compared to the Diversion.
