As Rod mention the IMIG-205 will not fit, but almost all other non roll-around Everlast units will. The IMIG-205P will fit fine.

    Inthefrey's cart:

I would move the wheels forward (middle of the tank deck) and extend the tank deck a little like others mentioned. Larger tank (if TIG you will see soon) and better balance.

    Rod cool new cart:

I wouldn't use wood, that stuff will catch on fire not that I would be that close with the torch.. Fire proof would not probably heavier than angle or tubing. Though probably cheaper.

I have to admit it works. Also, at my age squatting to set the dials it out too. Needs a shelf.
I used Microsoft Visio to draw it. Been using it for about about 15 years - as long as it has been out and before it was bought by Microsoft.
The I took a picture of my PowerPro 205 at the same angle as viewing the cart from the side and then cropped it with Photoshop CS4.

Respective of the recommendations, I will be moving the wheels forward and extending the tank deck to accomodate a larger tank. The front frame is almost done. I had a chance to work on it last night.

Since I had envisioned using L-channel as my rear axle mount to compensate for the 3/4" or so caster height difference, All I need to do is just extend the tank deck.

    Stay Tuned!

Looks like you will have a nice cart for a long time.

I have Visio 2002 to last action pack. But you have Visio Draw huh. I really like the tape tool (tape is a bit large). Sketch-up is too much work (thought not as bad as) STD cad as well and same for autocad. I was the man with Corel many years ago. Will see if I can find Visio draw and try it.

My cart, ugly and modded, if perfect for me as I made if for what I wanted MIG TIG plasma on the same cart. But if I did it over (this cart is old so maybe one day) Bigger tired on back like yours and big on the front. I have 5" rubber casters, I hate them. I want to roll over things when I hit them.

Also, PCV with caps work great for filler holders.

OK Rod, post up once the shag order comes in .

If you don't have Windows 7, Paint.Net is a really good and simple "paint" program.

Visio is a good product. However, LibreOffice Draw can do the same job, and it is free. As an advantage, you can use the same software under Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Looked over your plans and it doesn't show how wide it is... Was looking over the inverter welders and most are 9" wide. You sure don't want a tall cart that narrow...

The front frame will accomodate a 19" rack-mount device or drawer. I may (from your comment) "inset" the rear wheels now to reduce this profile as it is only a tank deck.
    THANKS!

I have one much bigger than this at my office - I still use it. When the EMP hits, the folks fluent in autocad will be out of luck!

That must be RonCad Desktop 1.0bc.

Will check out libre draw. Need a good vector program with dim built in, not sure paint is it, I thought it was graphic. Anyway, not a big windows fan either.

Not a windows fan either. However, my dad once told me, "Son, you do the very best you can with what you've got or, have been given..." I find this sage wisdom for all aspects of my life. The wife says this to me occasionally too.

Well, I was born when my dad was 52. My dad was born in 1908.
Most of his service was in the South Pacific aboard a sub tender before I was born. http://www.navsource.org/archives/10/19/1941.htm
I did a reservist tour 1984 - had to cut basic at Great Lakes short to come home and wish him "fair winds and following seas" when I was 24. Then went back to finish basic. That was a little tough! I still miss him.

Anyway, Back to the action at hand!
I have finished the main chassis of the cart. The accessory drawer fits perfectly! I worked a 12-HR yesterday at the uplink so, The rest of the pictures will have to wait till tomorrow!

I taught my sons the same. One didn't listen and the other two take it a little too far.

I was in the army. Spent most of my time developing pictures in a dark room. One of my sons is in the army, another was a marine who worked on helicopters.

So, the whole house now is wandering through the garage, asking questions about the new cart. My 14-year-old daughter asks, "Dad, where's the green tank go?" I said, Well, I'm getting another, larger tank. "You mean the tank that helped build the cart doesn't get the first ride?" "Probably not.", I replied. I went to the store and was gone about 30 minutes. When I got back, I found the scene below waiting for me.

    Hi Folks,

The DREAM CART build is under way again. I'll have new pictures of the cart progress in about a week.

What have I been doing? Well, I put an engine in son's car, closed my office after my employer decided he didn't want to be in the teleport business anymore(took 2 months), built home office in basement, moved the chicken pen, planted the garden, took down a 75' Norway Spruce in the back yard and began shingling the back roof just before it got real hot.

Now that it's cooling off a bit, I can stand to be in my garage without sweating all over the welder!
