Power I-MIG 205 should name it the super flame thrower lol

Well finally had a break at the shop to set up the Power I-MIG 205 . hooked up the gas and threw a 33 pound roll of .035 in it . tossed some 1/4 plate and had a piece of 1/2 . did some beads took a few minutes to get dialed in on the controls since different than my other mig . Wow talk about penetration and throwing some heat out can tell this welder would love .045 lol .. Thanks Alex nice finally having a mig with some heat and power for thick stuff the 175hd Lincoln just didn't have the power for 3/16 or thicker metal . Also was nice when you get the weld it comes with the connection for the spool gun so you have a plug for it . . Did pull the cover before using only because there was chunks of Styrofoam in the air valve port and had to remove to get the foam chunks out of it , looked very well made inside . nice now i have my small welder for exhaust and thin stuff and don't have to switch rolls of wire all the time with 2 machines now.

some practice with new welder , think in need to take and roll the tank since been sitting along time or is a crappy mix . did some spray and none spray beads . spattering a lot since i know its the gas . sucks when you only have one welding gas supplier liked it when lived in palm springs ca we had airgas they did a good mixing on gas's .

They are a great welder,,,that's why I have 2 of them,,,as for optimum wire size for that machine...1.0mm or .040 would be the best if you could get it,,,they make .040 wire over here....common in europe..lincoln sells it in 40lbs or 500 lbs sizes..right now I use .035,,,does just about everything I need..

yes .040 is nice airgas has it have to have a friend in palm springs bring me a roll

That is a rare event these days since we went to the mess foam other plain styrofoam (years ago). When we used plain styrofoam a good hit in the back and the foam would get punched in the barbed fitting. First I have heard in a long time. Glad you caught it.

Looks like it took a good low blow to the backside.

well it was from ups being rough with the box when i got the welder there was a big hole punched in the side of the box but nothing got damaged . I always give something the one over before using it . sure nice having a welder that holds a large spool of wire its a lot cheaper in the long run . its 33 dollars for a 10 pound roll and only 20 bucks more for a 33 pound roll a big savings ' sure like the welder welds really nice and when had cover off looked well made inside . oh got my plasma fixed it was just the air solenoid sticking took the hose off and blew compressed air both ways threw it seems to be working fine now .

It is a big unit, but worth it for the wire savings.

OT but did you go with gearhead on your CNC our build yours. Somewhere I saw you mention them. I do not mention them here for obvious reasons. But wondered if you had one.

not yet still working on the funds to buy it had the money but got the mig welder first so have to wait should have enough by the end of next month to buy it . like.. it since there using the s45 torch wont name what plasma cutter lol
