Thread: Project #1 304 Stainless Intake Cold-air extentions.

  1. Default Project #1 304 Stainless Intake Cold-air extentions.

There is a market for the V6 Camry/Solara guys, but no one seems to take heed of that.

So before I got my PowerTIG 200dx, I had a GiantCrap 3-in-1 that would only let me scratch start..

Here are some pictures of the process. I am positive the Everlast will do miles more then the other welder I had!

    Before.

Welcome, Spoolxexo! Good on ya for finding a market demand that needs filling!

Just out of curiosity: are you fluxing the interior of the joint, or back purging?

    I am backpurging with argon.

I figure when I start to make some turbo manifolds, I'll be well equipped!

    Thanks for the kind words.

Because I didn't have my POWERTIG yet!

That and because I live in the North East and corrosion is a big part of why things rust/fail.

Now, I can totally do aluminum.

    Looks great!

Just a question: Is that intake shielded or high enough to keep it from taking a big drink of water?

  7. Default

Yes, we also offer a by-pass valve based on the customers Region as well.

Uh oh, dumb questions alert: this is an air intake, right? Does the expanded size allow rain water in? And how does customer region affect the need for a by-pass?

Yes, this is an air intake extension off the Injen Short ram pipe.

I mean, if you drive your car through a puddle that goes up to your headlights, any engine can uptake water!

Customers in Arizona don't have to worry as much as my customers in Missouri, or New England.

OK, that was the part that I wasn't getting. Every now and again I see one of these driving around:

That's a very nice intake. Seems to be sucking well. I've always like the looks of the Solara but just never had the chance to own one.

How's your exhaust though? Have you done anything with it yet?
