Thread: Pretty impressed with my PowerTIG 200DX

Default Pretty impressed with my PowerTIG 200DX

I finally got home and had a chance to play with my 200DX. I had to wire in a plug, and had a few issues with that. Once I got that squared away, plugged in my welder. Nothing.

I called tech support and apparently I wired the plug wrong on the welder. Re-wired the plug, turned it on, and I was in business.

I bought a shield, and gloves. I had some 6011 1/8 rods I had from work. Hooked everything up, and started burning rods. I'll have to say, this thing welds sweet. I can't wait to start to TIG on in in the next couple of days. I have to get a bottle of gas, then I'll be in business.

Also, I don't think the torch is too big for me. So I am good to go!

So far, very impressed. I heard technical support sucked. That's a lie. All my stuff will be green from now on.

Thanks again Everlast. You have my vote.

Ahhh...yes, the plug issue. I am working on a video that will deal with how to wire all our units.

When you start using the TIG make sure you post an update ... The 200DX is the unit I'm planning on buying as soon as I qualify for the 25% discount ... wish I didn't have to wait. As far as wiring goes ... Just remember ... "green is ground, the world around" Sorry I couldn't help myself LOL

We had a guy years ago that would air brush and eagle of anything you like. Did not get over big. My son has a Ford blue wants to paint one in, but I will not let him. I do have an old CK 140 MIG/TIG (monster) I can let him paint. Trying to sell it. New paint might do it.

Glad 225 is enjoying the new welder. Post up some picture if you get time.

Scary, I like purple myself (but on a old hot rod).

I thought he was talk about the welder color?

Sure send it over and instructions. Can we add it as an extra theme? Then people can pick. Believe it or not, people like this as well and it has grown on me as well. You know you are on the Everlast forum.

Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

You should have seen the color scheme about a year and a half ago. (It's much improved now.)

Hehe, reading the posts from that thread. Sounds like the old theme was a real eye catcher ...

Now that we are way off topic.

First off that thread was because people had trouble with the text and background color. Grant it when we went to VB there was a week or two of tweaking the colors... And everyone helped (everyone at that time)

The thread colors have not changed that much really other than the text was a dark green and now black. We change the post background green as well to work with the black. All the rest has been like that for YEARS! Oh, we added the underlines to the links as well. But the green has been there for a long time.

Only a couple complaints out of 1500 members, now only a few by BBS/Forum/computer users. Funny, the original complaints were the older welders (couple guys) that found it hard to read green/green. We made the changes, everyone was OK years ago.

We can always go to the vbulletins default and look like all the other forums? The green is our brand though. Like Pirate4x4 and the black.

Tell me the variable and RGB or color and I can tweak it.

I thought the dark green frame could be black like the bezel on the welder. hahaha..

Since you know Vb I am open to some changes though, just do not want to spend hours on what has worked for a long time.

ALT-TAB works for me. I see your point now. Can not miss that green from a 90 degree angle in a lit room. Dark room you are screwed.
