  1. Default Hello from NC

    Hello,

I am Carson, from Greensboro NC. I've been looking pretty hard at the Everlast products since they are much more affordable than blue/red and will probably pick up a 200DX once the "contest" is over (hoping for that 25% discount!). Mainly just for messing around / fixing whatever breaks around the house. I'd love to have a real use for it, but in the mean time it's more of something just to keep me busy on the weekend.

I've never done much welding before besides with an old stick welder and a homemade TIG welder my dad made one time--neither of which was pretty. Hopefully with a real welder I'll have a little better luck!

Welcome. It sounds like you and I are in a similar situation. I am also looking for a ~200 amp AC/DC TIG welder. The 200dx seems to be a solid little unit.

    Also, Go Hokies!

Haha, yep. I used my exceptional powers of deduction.

I may have heard that the US office is out of the old style 200dx's and the next shipment will be the new ones. Awesome!

You are doing better than some, lol. Also, like the quote in your sig. I went for engineering, albeit Industrial so I won't pretend I'm a nuclear engineer or anything. Which type did you major in?
