    Question PowerPro 256 questions

I have been looking at the PowerPro 256. I see these are currently out of stock, but more are expected in a month or so. Are there any plans to update this to digital controls like the 210 and 250 EXT machines? Also are the forum posts the only place where all the new machine info is available? I see the website seems to have a real lag in getting the new machines posted. I am mostly looking for a TIG machine, but having the ability to plasma cut on rare occasions would be nice.

Oleg and Duncan get first updates on when the mods are done, then it hits here (the forum). Duncan is normally there tweaking until the last minute and making sure his stuff is ready to go (why Canada gets new model before the US sometimes).

Sometimes we will come up with a unit idea, then change our mind, or a unit change and change our mind. But when you see it on the forum it is normally being built, on the boat or in the warehouse.

Example, the 185 is getting a new look (no new feature), but the look has not been quite decided on yet. And there is another new item in the works (maybe) I have waited for years for us to make. But nothing can be said until the bosses say so as it is not cast in stone.

No changes to the 256 I am aware of (except for that purple one they are making for Rod ). The 200DX is on the way with nice changes (basically a lower power EX). Oh, I saw pictures of a bunch of 210EXTs today as well.

No, no new features. Keep in mind the EXT units are fully new units, and not EX units with digital features. Due to the nature of the multi units like this, and not being geared toward the higher end market, it is likely never make it. Most pros want individual units.
