Just ordered my new toy ... ooo aahhh ... at least until the cc bill comes ... oh well, shouldn't take too long to pay it off if I work a little harder ... it's all good ... keeps me out of trouble.

Good for you, Winky. I know you've been planning for this day for a while (must seem like an eternity). You've posted a fair number of pictures in the past so I won't bother asking you to post pictures of your new machine and future projects - I'm sure you'll keep us in the loop with what you're doing. Nice way to head into the weekend. Cheers!
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

Were they in stock? Hope they were and you get it soon and are able to fire it up on arrival. Good luck.

Yea I'm excited ... they haven't arrived here yet but Oleg says it should be a week or so. I've looked at all the other "Comparable" units and no one comes close to offering the features and value Everlast does. You can get a Longevity 200 amp AC DC for a little less but there really isn't much control over your current ... anything else AC/DC @200 amps is really lacking or cost way too much money ... I like Lincoln and Miller and Hobart and I have machines made by them but PLEASE the cost factor ... the're great machines but they're way too proud of them.

"Engineering is the art of modelling materials we do not wholly understand, into shapes we cannot precisely analyze so as to withstand forces we cannot properly assess, in such a way that the public has no reason to suspect the extent of our ignorance."
- Dr. AR Dykes
When I ordered they said they should be shipping them the first week of June, so I'm hoping they get the container this weekend or early next week. From all I've read here the last year, the folks there really bust their collective arses to get them shipped as soon as they get their hands on them. Don't worry, I'm doing something that will ensure they'll be shipped in record time... getting my hands tattooed, won't be able to weld till they heal, so the way the universe works, as soon as I do it tomorrow afternoon we'll get shipping notifications

LMAO, the tattoo is something I've been planning for a while, a celebration of making it through the last 6 months, it's just a timing thing I was poking a joke at.
I'm a college professor, research is like breathing at this point. I'm big into made in the USA, a company I'm starting will produce things solely in the US from US made parts, this will cost us about 20% of the potential profit over using offshore components. At that, most would think I'd dismiss Everlast outright, however, the involvement of the folks at Everlast are what makes them different than crap form HF. The care, the personal investment and involvement, the willingness to help and support, etc. pushes them above, in my opinion, blue, red and gray.

I eagerly anticipate seeing your company ... I wish success in your endeavors. I think that China is coming out of a slump the same way Japan did, I remember in the 60's everything that was made in Japan was junk .... "made in Japan" was a running joke for a long time but now what is produced there is considered state of the art and of the highest quality. I have seen tremendous stride in China's metallurgy over the last two decades and I am starting to see the same in their electronics ... China will not be considered the "third world" as it has in the past they are emerging as a major player in world economics.

It was a sleeping giant. It is waking up. So much potential capacity (and demand) It only needs a deft management hand to guide them into making superior products. Get a few companies like that and watch out.
First Japan, then Korea (look at Samsung, Hyundai, LG for examples of how quietly they can sneak in) and now China. Actually, I think Hyundai could have done a lot better if they could have changed their name a long time ago. Some perceptions associated with name brands are very difficult to change.
You are absolutely right, Winky, China will either explode onto the market or slowly creep in and the companies who are being complacent thinking they are safe are actually in big, big trouble.

It's funny but every one of those countries at one point was taken seriously by virtually no one ... the times are changing ... what's the phrase? Oh yea ... you snooze ... you loose. The Pacific rim has woke up and they are yawning with a morning cup of coffee. We can either roll over and fall asleep or we can team up and bolster each other we new partnerships ... innovative ideas ... and make it work to everyone's advantage.
