May I ask how much you're into it for, not counting the powder and gun, just the oven?

Injected your PC oven is looking good. Do you have to do any prep for the steel skin on the inside or outside?

Here is a picture of the blower motor.
I got the heater elements mounted, the thermocouple in place and one of the 2 lights mounted. Tomorrow I will work on the 2nd light and mount and plumb the fan.

Looking really good. I thought I saw a previous picture where you had some shelves for the unit(?) Sorry, my allergies are acting up so I don't feel like going back to take a look. Thought the shelves looked permanent but hopefully they were removable in the event you have some larger items you want shaked and baked.
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

The blower only circulates the warm air inside the oven or does it pull from outside and vent some where?

circulates the air in oven no air from out side just hot air inside oven stops the powder coat from setting up wrong . my friend found out the hard way when he did his homemade oven after he installed a fan it cured the rite way . i want to build one but about the size for my shop big enough to put a jeep frame's in , my friend used to metal dipsy dumpsters to make his oven got them free from his brother that works at the waist disposal place in town . his will hold a full jeep frame

No shelved in this one. I am planning on a removable rack that will slide in and out of the unit that will have removable shelves. The idea being I can spray the parts on the rack and then transfer them right into the oven without having to handle them.
Like Rods mentioned, the fan is only for circulating the hot air in the oven. It pulls hot air from the top of the oven and blows it back down to the bottom to help even out the temperature.
Most ovens of that size are gas fired. I would love to have one a bit bigger but I am simply out of room on my garage/shop. One of these days when I can get into a bigger house with a bigger shop I will have more room for a big oven.

Those look like the heater wires out of an oven, lol. Good luck on the electricity billHopefully it's insulated well enough to not be too bad, as others have said
New to welding!
Lots of Snap-On tools
In need of more toys
Yes that is basically what they are out of. I'm not sure what the running costs will be, but hopefully they will be outweighed by the income that it can produce.

see your heating elements are 3000 watts each , your oven uses the same watts as my parts hot jet washer cabinet , 12,000 it has two 6000 heating elements in my washer machine . you will be surprised the more heating elements the cheaper to run since heats up faster , after to your needed temp and if well insulated will not use that much electricity . i use my parts washer a lot and cost about 30 to 40 dollars in electricity . i have a older parts washer with just one 6000 element it eats electricity since take a long time to heat up like a hour or so-- my 2 element washer is hot and ready in less than 10 minutes

What kind of fumes or smell can one expect to get from running a powder coat operation? The kitchen oven is looking mighty attractive at the moment![]()

Melting plastic. Will, at the very least, piss off a wife. Worst, it'll make your food taste like sh**. I get yelled at when I heat PVC or Poly in the oven, but it leaves no lingering anything. As soon as I get a shed put up and my shop cleaned out, I'll be getting another oven. Had to get rid of the last because I had no room.

Well that pretty much kills that idea!Figured as much but doesn't hurt to ask. I do have a friend that has an oven that supposedly still works but again, no 220v power in the garage and really no means to change that condition in the near term. I will tap into the dryer plug for my welder though. Missus doesn't know that yet - shhhh!

I wish I had more to report. My ADD kicked in and I went to work pulling the rear suspension out of my 65 Mustang. I am about at a stopping point though, so I should be able to steer my attention back to the oven soon.
