Default Will Powertig 200dx weld aluminum cans and razor blades ?

Since the DC start is 5 amps with the Powertig 200dx it seems like it should be able to weld razor blades if the operator is good enough.

The 20 amp start on AC seem like it may be too high to weld aluminum pop cans without blowing holes in them.

Has anyone tried or successfully welded razor blades or aluminum cans with the Powertig 200dx?

    Thanks

I thought I saw a YouTube video of this one time.. maybe from weldingtipsnadtrick.com ?

Or maybe he was using the 250EX.. He was able to weld aluminum cans with whichever he was using, though

I was looking through some older posts and someone said they were able to drop the belt down 1 more notch on the pulley on the foot pedal, and got it down to 10 amp start. Maybe something to look into.... Got a project you are thinking of that requires pop cans????

    Pop cans are readily available.

I figure a welding machine and welding machine operator capable of welding pop cans should have a good chance of successfully welding .040 and .060 aluminum
lawn chair tubing, aluminum fan blades, and aluminum storm door and window frames that commonly need repaired.
