Thread: Foot Pedal and Arc Start

  1. Default Foot Pedal and Arc Start

Most of the stuff I weld is SS at about 90-100A or so. Last weekend I was welding some nuts and the amperage was set at 75A. I noticed when I was using the foot pedal that the arc would start a little later than usual as I depressed the pedal. Is this because the amps were lower than usual or is the pot wearing? The arc would start just a fraction of a second later than usual but I could still tell the difference. Anyone else notice this?

You have upslope turned up or more preflow?

It seems like if I have "start amps" turned down too low it won't start or will be a little delayed... Just a thought

Mark I don't think so but I will check. CGC I have start amps turned down to the minimum, but I will check that also.
