Thread: Not happy with arc zone

  1. Default Not happy with arc zone

I pleased an order with Arc-Zone using there web site witch calculates the postage cost automatically. charged $143.03 for the atoms in the order $63.00 shipping. Only to find that when it arrived the shipping docket states Total value 206.03 Postage and fees $36.20 Now in Australia if i in-port goods under $1000 not including post we don't pay sales tax over $1000 we pay sales tax So not only did they over charge me $26.40 on post But they got the declaration wrong should have read. Total cost $143.03 post cost 36.20. will bee the last time i ever deal with Arc-zone

I was not happy with Arczone and never could place an order with Weldcity so I ended dealing with Weldfabulous and have been happy with them.

The thing I don't like about ArcZone is you place and order and it seems like it takes them 4-5 days to even process it and ship out the parts. With Weldingcity, at least if its in stock they ship out pretty fast in my experience.

I've had mixed luck with arczone. No real problems, just slow delivery on some items.

My LWS has an internet business, so I simply go there for most everything. S/F.....Ken M

Slow delivery is definitely a problem for me since the LWS doesn't carry crap for tig supplies so its always a wait to get things off of the net. It always seems to happen that I order something to have on hand and the very next day I break or wear out the part and suddenly its a rush to get it.

I stopped into the LWS here... They have a couple things to get you going but man are their prices high!!! Around 3-4 times what you can find them on the net for.

The one that we use here at work has tons of gas and just about anything that you could possibly need for a mig or arc welder, but very little in the way of tig supplies. They have a spot on the wall about 2' x 2' with some random collets, cups and tungsten packs but that's it. Forget trying to find gas lens parts. They are good about ordering things in, but like you mention the price is out there even with our discount. I mainly use them for last minute filler rods buys and then of course the gas.

Dealt with them one time, will not again. In fact I cancelled the order and they email to see what I did not submit it. Shipping was more than the part. Was not impressed either. I have dealt with River and Depot, all good stories there.

Toss a second vote for weldfabulous, they did right by me on the last order, one item was out of stock, but I didn't need it immediately and they shipped it like a day later.

Bought from cyberweld as well, fast processing and shipping and tons of stuff has free shipping. A friend of mine turned me on to them. Some things are higher than other places, some are lower. I've taken to cherry-picking for purchases rather than just doing it all at once for convenience.

no arc zone for me, twice was enough. i use ioc, cyberweld, weldingsupply.com and ebay. i never use a LWS operation, i suppose i would if i was desperate but it hasn't happened in years. i am well supplied though, learned the hard way. back before the internet they had you at their mercy and rarely showed any. not any more.

something else i would like to mention. when you are ordering your items online find out how they are going to handle shipping when you have an order that contains a stock item and an OEM part. whether they will split the order and charge shipping on both, hold one item till the other comes in... things like that. recently i ordered some argon hose and fittings and in addition i ordered a gas solenoid for a miller xmt 350 that i recently bought. the order was split because the solenoid had to come from miller my other items were in stock. i was aware of this so no problem but i have seen some angry posts by buyers who were unaware of the different possibilties that could come into play in a situation like this.

Another vote for Weldfabulous, Indiana Oxygen, and River-Weld. I do have a LWS that I have used for many years and get pretty good prices there, so I like to give them some business when I can.

We have local big guys (Air Gas, Prax, WSI) and small two private shops. I find WSI (big but not that big) to be the best locally. And the private shops, Lake Welding has the best filler prices. So they all have a place in a pinch.

But the internet surely (like fdcmiami said) has to have humbled them up a little you would think. The deep pocket stores still charge big money of course to keep the door open. The internet if you can wait, and you know who to buy from, it is hard to beat or look back.

I posted the ones we use with better than good success. Ones off the top of my head. weldingsupply.com, riverweld, atlweldingsupply (sure there are others). One I would never use again Arc zone (they can spam the search engines all they want, I will not use them; just type -arczone).

I won't even do business with outfits that won't quote and charge shipping up front. It isn't like the weight and volume can't be computed as you shop. Weldingcity was even better, I used the "bill me" option and shipping came out a bit cheaper than the automatic calculations did.
