I need some idea's on how to make the body "hairy" looking. I'm thinking maybe just a rasp at an angle or a die grinder to make light grooves down the back bone...????

How about the way I paint with a spray gun...

BTW just an idea since you are the creative one... What about heating it up red hot and jamming it in a pile of shavings??? Sure don't want it to shed... But maybe the dog does... haha... Problem is they won't be parallel like hair...

I wonder if steel wool would give a decent look. Make it rust and the color might be OK, and there are many coarsnesses to choose from. It would be kind of a bitch to attach without adhesives though.

I've got a hair-brained idea. Drill a bunch of holes on some scrap metal, and collect the curly shavings to use as some curly hair.

I think you might be right on that one, how about something like a scratch awl only hard/sharp enough to actually dig in?

I've always said you guys are great. I never how much .... Thanks for all of those who sent some sun my way! Clouds have blown away and the sun is warm. Finally got to mow the 'ol lawn.

DONE! It's too hot to be screwin with this stuff!!!
I decided just to paint it and get it done. I used a metal cast paint then I scratched off some highlights and finished with a little black for his toes, eyes and collar.

Add a "head"..


Cut some ears...


Final dog.....








No Name on his tag......



With his name... I plan on getting some vinyl letters cut to stick on the bone...

No hair... It was turning into a huge process so I just finished it up like it is.

I used a photo editing program. When I get the real thing it will be a different font...a little rough around the edges or something.

I have a vinyl machine, why I asked. Thought you might have one too, then looked a little closer.

Yeah, this thing was a Lot of work for just a little stick dog.
So you have a vinyl machine huh? My truck sign guy where I get my vinly cannot cut small enough letters. They need to be 3/16" tall and a total length of 3/4". Closest I've found online is 1/2" tall but it won't work. I was thinking about going to a craft store and see if they have some smaller letters, maybe with Glitter!!!
