Thread: PP256/MIG Welder Cart

  1. Default PP256/MIG Welder Cart

First thing I had to do when I got my PP256 was to find a home for it.
It's going to have to share quarters with my old 120V MIG welder. I'm giving the 256 top bunk and the MIG bottom bunk.

Here's what I came up with. Of primary importance was to minimize floor space, so the cart is as narrow as I can make it.
It's not particularly top heavy, and since it lives on a smooth floor and won't be moving around much, it should do fine.

And here's a simple drawing in case anyone's interested in the dimensions:

You've got that cylinder in there providing ballast too. Nice cart. I like the colour scheme!
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?

What do you do about the two different shielding gases, MIG vs. TIG?
Long arc, short arc, heliarc and in-the-dark!

Quite right. I shoulda' explained. That' Ar/CO2 for the MIG. The TIG uses Ar in a 250 cu ft tank bolted to the wall. Too top heavy, too heavy for this little cart.

Great cart! I also like the drawing, these are always fun projects when it is poor weather outside. Thanks for sharing.
