    Default DCEN with a 200DX

When I first got my new Powertig 200DX I ran just a couple quick beads DCEN and then went to AC for aluminum ... (still a work in progress - learning curve) Today I switched back to DCEN and ran some beads, lap joints, butt joints and fillets with 1/8" mild steel ... man this thing is unbelievable ... fast, clean and quiet ... you CAN NOT break the joints I welded ... this is the best machine I own hands down ... Still haven't tried the pedal yet ... been doing everything 2T

I assure you, I could break hem :-) We've had tensile tests in excess of 2 million pounds tensile load.

Not being able to break the joint easily is kind of the point of welding isn't it?

OK Point well taken ... I couldn't brake the joints LOL ... when I tried the none welded part just bend ... yes that is the point ... I'm just so very pleased at how well this machine works on steel ... in the past I've done most of my mild steel work with MIG or stick but I think I'm going to be doing a lot more mild steel work in TIG since this machine is far superior to my other DC TIG inverter ... which I will probably be selling this Saturday during our yard sale ... along with my old Miller Thunderbolt.

That'd be a fun wager... properly welded, material dependent, you may break the sample, yet the weld might hold up beautifully.

Ok, I'm done being a smartass geek, carry on LOL

I like mine as well. It is the older model 200Dx.
