Argon pricing???

I just paid $48 bottom line (after taxes and hazmat surcharge) for a 155cf Argon exchange (customer-owned bottle.)

Downright cheap. 125 cu ft exchange is closer to $70 for me.

Still sounds like a lot of money to be practicing... I guess every time I go back for a fill prices seem to jump...

Wife went over to pick up a tank and some supplies, sent her for an 80, was quoted $175 with $35 exchange (owner bottle) Had her ask about a 125... got a 125 for $225 with $45 exchange, said go for it. Little more up front, lots cheaper later.

Asked about other gasses, wanting to add oxy/acet and a MAPP tank (for my glass work) tank price is tank price, first fill is free, regardless of gas. I like this place!

Only had filler in 10lb packs, a bit much for now for other than ER70S2 so I'm going to order online.

Next time I refill argon I'm going to upgrade from my 80 to a 150 (my own tank) ... Airgas wants $60 plus the cost of the gas should save me money in the long run.

I have 2 - 80cf argon bottles, one is an owner through a local company and the other is through Airgas. I think I pay $30.00 for my bottles.

I was quoted $75 year rental $85 per fill on a 330cf pure argon... beats the $80 I paid on my 125cf....
