I think I need to move to Houston! Great price depending on the definition of large bottle I guess.

AirGas in NY is around $60 a year (rental) and $87 a re-fill/swap on a 300CF . Had a NY call and asked.

Here in Maryland about 20 miles south of Baltimore, best price I could find was $4/month for tank rental (any size tank) and 150 cuft was 37 for 100% argon. Some places were asking 50-60 for refill on same size tank + a $10 HAZMAT fee...

Nope, outright. Nobody round here does rentals AFAIK. Refills are typically exchange, unless you want some off the wall stuff. S/F....Ken M

Heavy sigh... $118 for 330 cf pure argon, about $10 per month cylinder rental. I'll have to look into an owner bottle- for now I wanted to have a large size bottle on hand.

    Argon $62.00 K bottle 2400 psi
    Helium $81.00 K bottle 2400 psi
    Co2 $45.00 K bottle 75lbs
I bought my 6 bottles from a welding supplier made in UK they did own for $25.00 each and no rental fees get the filled when i need them. After a few years got more bottles that were not the welding supplies companys for free, they did not want them now I've got 45 clean them and paint them my colors. Got some booster pumps cheap on the net and pump their gas into mine takes a few hours and give them the tanks back no rental fees. When gas price drop I got extra now all my tanks are full and I rent them to other people cheaper and now my are free it took 12 years but is worth it.

That's a lot of bottles!!! I was thinking of buying the fittings required to fill my 20 and 40cf tank from my 336. I don't care if it goes to 2000psi on them so dont need a pump. One thing I was thinking was I could put the little bottle in the freezer to get the pressure a little higher once it reached room temp.

Haskel booster pumps have oxygen pump and none oxygen most of them oxygen compatible. The best one is AGT-15/30 it will pump to 9000 psig sounds high but you need it because it will pump the tank empty and fill your tank to 2500 psig from a low pressure. All the pump have area ratio so 15 is 6.2 cu.in. 30 is 3.1 cu. in. so it takes the 15 and pumps it into the 30 then out. Yes the the smaller the number the bigger the pistion. A place to find pumps cheap some times https://www.govliquidation.com you bid on them good old USA Military hunt for words as BOOSTER, HASKEL, SPRAGUE, CURTISS WRIGHT and PUMPS sooner or later they will show up. I will be selling some of mine next year just got to many like 9 pumps you bid on them and you get 3 in the lot some good or not make one or two good ones out of them or you get lucky and they are all good or bad but there are usually OK just need a little work.

Do you have to get your bottles hydro-static tested? I would think that you would want to get them tested for safety reasons.

I'm have two AirGas leases one is a 125 75/25 the other is an 80 pure argon. I pay $75.00 and $50.00 a year, and I'm going to give them back and go with owner bottles from a different company. Leases are a rip off!
