When you have never used a plasma cutter, it's hard to know what you want/need.
I gave serious thought to buying a lower price Everlast plasma cutter just to get one. After a lot of discussion and basically everyone saying "You Need to at least buy the PP50 with IGBT", that is the one I bought and I am very happy with it!
I just got through with a project cutting expanded metal and without the Pilot Arc, it would have been a pain to do. I buzzed right through it never letting go of the trigger!

I understood what I was reading and it is worded well even for dummy's like me, but NOW, I Get It! (after using it for expanded metal)

It's a fabulous feature. If (when?) I get a plasma cutter, that's a feature it must have. I hear a lot about IGBT having significant benefits over MOSFET, too. You made a good choice.

When we came out with the first pilot arc until, I did not like it due to the consumable wear. I have to say now, and I use both types, I prefer the pilot arc. Easier to get the arc transfer on dirty (paint grease) material as well.
