Default Best/favorite online source for filler?

LWS only has 10# packs and wants double the cost of most online places I checked out. $130 for 1/16 309... Weldfabulous wants less than half that, even with shipping it's still a better deal.

I need to pick up (and add to my list if you think I should)

    308
    309l
316l (I have lots of surgical steel projects)
    4043
    5356

In a couple sizes to have on hand. Planning 1# each, I don't have THAT much of most to do, and will buy 10# packs on the next go-round.

Who is the cheapest/best to deal with?

Already have ER70S2 in a couple sizes as well as a few spools of MIG laying around.

I'm going to bite the bullet and just buy stick from Tractor Supply, Lowes and Depot only have one or two sizes and not the rods I want. TSC prices aren't that bad on 7018, 6011, 6013, 6014. around $15 for 10#

I was looking online to find a selection... Alum, 309, ER70S.... Some were great on one or two, but really high on the other. Then I found a pretty good price and selection, then the shipping was like $40... For my first stop I went to the LWS and picked up a selection. From there I will see what I use and what sizes to pick up.

I know that probably didn't help you much... My experience...

I bought tungsten from WeldingCity too, best prices I could find. Unfortunately they only stock stainless TIG filler metal. So far the best prices I've found for er70s2 filler has been on eBay, about $35 for a 10# tube with free shipping.

I looked up my old email. It was from USAWELD.com I check on 1 lb of Alum filler, 2lbs of stainless (or vise versa) and 5 lbs of ER70S. The shipping was $50. I asked if they combined shipping and they said place the order and they will see what they can do.

I've seen some good prices at WeldingDepot.com, and just ordered some filler metal along with some safety glasses. I like the Jackson Nemesis glasses, and they come in cheater lenses too.

I was thinking a "Sticky" thread along the lines of "online stores with good prices / good service" might be a good idea. Everybody has their favorites but it's also good to have a backup source, just in case. Just from reading this thread, for instance, there's a lot of alternate sources that I'd never heard of.

Cyberweld.com has good prices and fast shipping, another choice.

Just an update, I think I'm set for now... put in an order with weldingsupply.com this morning for some 'on hand' items. Now I have 1/16 and 3/32 lanthanated tungsten, ER70S-2 filler in 1/16 and 3/32, 309 (thanks cbmkr) in 3/32, 308 in 3/32, 4043 and 5356 in 1/16, 3/32, and 1/8. 1LB of each but the 309, figure it's good for a start. Ordered some .030 ER70S-6 for the MIG to go along with the .023 that I seem to have wound up with 3 rolls of. I need some 1/16 in both stainless still as well as 316L, but those will have to wait for next payday as will the 1/8 lanthanated tungsten. Debating on building a small rod oven to keep some 7018 on hand, the 6011 is a PITA, but worked for what I needed.

I've ordered from Cyberweld and been thrilled, Plenty happy with Weldfabulous, but both places had prices out of line with others on things I needed. We'll see how weldingsupply goes, hopefully smooth, some damn fine prices on filler and tungsten.

Now, if I can get the shop cleaned between storms this weekend I'll be able to get some welding done. Too much damn wind this week to weld outside anything but stick or flux core.
