    Default Everlast Torches and Pedal

What's everyone's opinions on the new torch and pedal upgrades from Everlast? Go with these upgrades from Everlast or buy with the standard torch and pedal and then retrofit to a CK or other?

    Thanks-

Since I just started tigging... I have no problem with either... If you want a lighter more handy torch or you are used to a lighter one upgrade. So far I have no problem with the pedal. It is all I have ever used and works.

Depends if you are a pro or just starting out. If you are starting out go with what comes with it and upgrade as your needs progress... Better torch.. Bigger tank... Etc.

    Oleg,
Are these torches imported or American made like the American made foot pedal upgrade? I guess what I'm asking are they CK or Weldcraft, etc. or are they made in China or off shore. I mean no offense by the question-I fully understand that many imported items are just as good just like the Everlast welders.
    Thanks

They are made in China. I use the WP-18 and WP-20 all the time. For years, and have not had any major issue. The CK with there hoses are nice, but they are more money. Might want to see if Oleg will cut a deal on a WP-20 first, could save a lot of cash. What is the max amps you will be using the torch at? The WP-9 (gas cooled) would be less.

    Mike,
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm just looking at my options right now. I'm actually waiting to make a decision until the 210 EXT becomes fully available. Most likely it will be either the 210 EXT (first choice) or the 200dx/225lx as second choices depending. Whichever unit I choose, I of course want to make sure I can utilize the full capacity of the unit. (although I could run two different torches)

I used the LX's for years, great machine. Have the 250EX now. I am also inline for the new 210EXT as well. Hope they get here soon. Been awhile before a welder excited me.

Try out the WP-20 or 9 before you jump on the CK, they are not bad torches, the hoses are a little stiff is all.

The weldcraft torches are chinese made (or at least all the ones I have seen).

Thanks for the replies. It could well be some of Weldcraft torches are Chinese made also.. Wouldn't surprise me the least. My actual question should have been directed at the quality not the place I guess I think if everlast offered the very flexible leads that would be a very good option!

    Again, thanks for the options.

That's what I figured you were asking, why I mentioned I have used them for years and no major problem and try before going CK. The WP-18 is just a little clunky sometimes (if you have used smaller torches, some people like it as is). Agreed, a more flexible hose (25') would be a nice option for sure.

I have tried a few torches now and I have really come to like a ck200 with the super flex hoses. I am really kicking myself for not getting the 25' hoses. The hoses and jacket on the everlast torch is just way too thick and stiff
