Thread: "60 Amp" torch on PP50?

  1. #1

Default "60 Amp" torch on PP50?

I've started building a plasma table.

I was interesting in getting a machine torch (straight/inline torch). The only ones I found are listed as 60 Amp torches. Will they work okay on a PP50?

I'm guessing it would also have to support pilot arc to work properly?

From a cost viewpoint - I'll go with the S45 torch for now, but would like to know if I can move to a more appropriate torch.

Anybody have any experience with that?

    Thanks

No, it won't work, not ours. You have to find a comparable blow back style start. The 60 amps are HF. Big difference.
You need either an S53 or S75 trafimet.

    Hey Mark,

A quick web search didn't show anything for S53 and the S75 looks like the same style as my S45.

    Thanks,
