Very nice. What kind of welding do you do that you need such a hefty welder for. Or did you just want it for all those setting it has. I think it would be good if they started putting them on the powerarc 200 also.

The PowerArc 200 works well without them. The have them, but they are automatically controlled. I have been welding with the PowerARC 300, and it is a good welder, but not any better than the 200 with the automatic feature. It does offer a little hotter start, but as far as the arc force control, the 200 is spot on what you need...with no need to fine tune. Having manual control of a feature doesn't "automatically" makeit better.

As far as heavy duty: most welding is done under 200 amps as it is, even commercially, and the PA 200 is more than able to keep up.

200 is not enough . i have used 1/4 rod that has to have about 320 to 400 amps . to me when i buy a welder why not buy the biggest if only a few bucks more . I dont like automatic things would rather tune it were i want it .

How much does the PowerArc300 weigh? My PowerArc 200 throws you off because it looks light but's fairly heavy (not to heavy to lug around), but you can tell its not a light duty welder.

Yeah, saw your other thread, Rod. That was a great deal on that generator for 200 bucks. Quite a steal. Once you get into the 1/4" rods you can definitely appreciate the additional amps. Was reading about the jetweld 1/4" rods. mooooore pooooowwwwwer .... LOL
Is it OK to want to break something just so that you can weld it back together?
