Default Just recieved my drag tips today!!

I bought some drag tips for my PP50, got them here...
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/10PC-PLASMA-...item27b730d822

I hate the cheap wire standoff that comes with the torch and after using a friends Hypertherm 1250 with drag tips I decided to try them on my cutter.
I LIKEY!!! Seems easier to cut with and I get cleaner and faster cuts! Hopefully these will let me do some freehand work easier.

So do drag tips wear quicker since they are dragging on the metal when hot or just like the other ones or better.

That guy...hmm. He's the one on WW that is constantly creating controversy for us and seems to be a know it all and a source of misinformation about our product. Not that you shouldn't buy from him, but beware of his motivation and intent.

There are a number of places you can get those tips. HTP for one, with a better reputation and they use genuine trafimet or extremely better quality than the average guy. http://www.usaweld.com/Parts-for-Mic...-625-parts.htm
    Also, Weldmart.com has them.
    http://www.weldmart.com/store/RTS-4700.htm

For a cheap source as good as or better than what you found for the future:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-Tips-1...item5d2f944ffc

You can get a rolling standoff from us for that torch.

A thing about those consumables...They probably won't have the wear life...because they are made from inferior chinese recycled copper which has a high tin content which wears much faster. The ones we send with the torch are genuine trafimet, and our replacements use copper made and sourced from Finland...There's a big difference in wear.

I did a search and that was what I found so I bought them.
I can't get the USAweld link to work?!?

I definitely like the drag tips and how they work so in the future I'll try some other sources. So what's up with that seller on Ebay?

What is the life difference between the good tips and the recycled ones? Is the quality of the cut the same when both are new? In a production environment or some field work where tip changing time might be an issue, I can see having the best quality. But for light use, all I really care about is cost per inch of cut. If the cheap ones have a better ROI, what do I care for parts that will be used up no matter what. It took me a long time to learn this, but sometimes "good enough", is.

You can always tell the originals from the copy,s as they are marked similar to this.

Obviously i can not really be 100% sure about this but i firmly believe the Supplier that produces these is located in Wenzhou ( i only know of 2 suppliers for this drag tip in China)
Interestingly Wenzhou is very close to Wenling . What makes Wenling somewhat infamous is it is one of three major centres for used electronics to be dismantled and parts recycled.

You get of the train in Wenling and right away you can just feel the difference in both the soroundings and air quality and it is one of those depressing places that you come across and yet you can not really say why it makes you feel this way.
I only spent 4 hours there but i can tell you i was very happy to leave. The sad thing is i will likely be back there fairly soon to visit another potential supplier.
As for the consumables. I am pretty sure if i dug through some old files i could find pictures of the place producing them. I often use my Camera as a help along with recorder for keeping track of things i want to look into further.
If i am correct the quality was rejected by us some time ago and we opted to use both original and another supplier that is in fact probably a little better wearing than the original.

You really need to contact San Fran and tell them to order these Drag tips for you in the future as i can quarentee the quality will be superior.
    Cheers
