Has anyone here ever TIG welded Ni200 (Pure Nickel)? One of the things I hope to be able to do is tack weld Ni200 bolts to 24awg plates.

I need a MIG.... which one to buy:

What are pure nickle bolts used for and where would you get them ?

2013 250EX : SSC Pedal : I-MIG 250P 20' Profax gun : Power Plasma 60 p80 torch : 3M Speedglas 9100XX : Evolution Rage 3 DB cold saw
Nickle nuts and bolts hold up good in stuff like caustic soda . the rod to weld with is sorta hard to find had some brackets break in my hot caustic washing tank and mig welded with standard mig wire nad lasted abut 2 weeks before breaking again used Nickel Filler Metal 61 rod and haven't broke yet
EVERLAST 250 EX , EVERLAST I-MIG 205 , EVERLAST spool gun NOW have 2 EVERLAST POWER PLASMA 50 plasma cutter's , LINCOLN 175HD MIG WELDER , VICTOR TORCH SET and many more tools to many to list
I get the nickel bolts from mcmaster. I use them in hydrogen generators. Electrolisist (yea I cant spell) is hard on the metal and nickel holds up very well.

There is a TIG filler. It is $$$ and do not recall the name. Will see if I can find it. I think it was mentioned on the forum, I went for get some and changed my mind.
I have used 316L and better with great success with hydrogen generators. Have not done one in years, might do it again if gas keep going up. Last one the check valve failed (there was a bang and repair work required), but gas prices were back down so I didn't repair it.

This was it (see link below). Price was not bad actually, it was shipping was more than the price and they now (I believe) do USPS, not that it helped a lot. Was getting them just to have them and passed.

Actually, I am not too interested in the automotive use of HHO. I am (or was) working for a company out of CA that was focused on large generators. I designed stuff for them, to include 120/240 volt HHO cells. The type of cells I designed are called shim cells. They are more efficient than normal dry cells.
Usually we use 316L for the cells. However I have been playing with Ni200 as it offers less resistance than 316L and lasts longer. Only down side is the cost.

Well, the auto side, the 230 miles to a tank jumped to almost 300 miles to a tank. So I might go back there or go diesel on new truck.
So you are using AC 110/220 to make yours? Feel free to PM info, or maybe get something going in the members area is not an NDA issue.

No NDA issues as the company defaulted on the contract.... which sucked in one way (money) but I was glad in another (freedom).
Anyways, HHO does work with autos but the computers can be a real pain to work around. It works better on Diesels, at least the older ones. Not sure about the newer ones as they are a lot more computer controlled..... On large generators we were seeing 30% increase in run times with about a 1 to 1 ratio of engine size to LPM of HHO. The more HHO the more run time. The reason we were doing 120v/240v rectified is for larger volumes of gas. One of the guys I was working with is still trying to cut a deal with a few different companies, but I am not too hopeful.
